Fight Pimples - Getting Rid of Acne
To fight your acne successfully, you have to know and understand your enemy first. Unfortunately the creation and growth of acne pimples is a quite complicated process that is still not understood completely - even by scientists and dermatologists. But the basic principles are quite clear - there are two ingredients for an pimple:
1. sebum (oil) and dead skin particles
2. acne bacterias
If both of them get together trapped in a pore that is clogged, the bacteria begin to feed upon the oil and dead skin particles. If there is enough sebum, they begin to multiply and cause an infection. Then the skin reacts and tries to protect itself from this infection - this leads to inflammation and huge inflamed red spots.
This basic knowledge about acne leads us to three weak points where we can combat acne.
Killing the acne bacteria.
If there are no acne bacteria alive, they cannot cause infections, there will be no inflammation and there will be no acne. There are several ways to get rid of the acne causing bacteria. Using antibacterial cleanser in your daily cleansing will help to get rid of bacteria on the surface of the skin. Products containing Benzoyl Peroxide can be used to attack bacteria within the skin. Benzoyl Peroxide creates an oxygen-rich environment within the outer layers of the skin, killing acne bacteria in the treated regions.
Reducing the excess oil on the skin's surface.
Oil - especially excess oil on skin that tends to produce too much oil - is the raw material for acne bacteria to create pimples. Besides this the oil can clog pores and help build up the environment for acne bacteria. Therefore less excess oil on the skins means free pores and less food for the acne bacteria.Cleansing your skin on a regular basis will help to reduce the amount of oil on the skin's surface. Using very warm water one to three times a day will help to remove excess oil. By scrubbing slightly you will remove dead skin cells, too and help reduce clogged pores.
Stopping the pores from getting clogged.
If you remove dead skin cells, the pores are kept clean. So there will be no seed for acne pimples what means less acne pimples.Keeping the pores from being clogged up is not only a mater of the right cleansing. There are products that work as exfoliant and can help keeping your pores free. Many of these products use Salicylic Acid as ingredient.
By working on these three points long-term, chances are good that your acne will go away for good.
